Battle Commander Capture — Privacy Policy

Effective 2026-09-16 · updated 2026-10-23 (which account the game tab is on), 2026-09-21 (map “Go to”, troubleshooting counters, progress email) · Applies to the Chrome extension "Battle Commander Capture"

In one sentence: the extension reads the network traffic of the game tab (on totalbattle.com) you are playing in and sends it to your own clan's Battle Commander dashboard, so the dashboard can show your clan's data. The one thing it does besides reading: when you press "Go to" on a target in the dashboard, it moves your own game map to that spot. It never sends a march, spends anything, or sends anything to the game's servers.

What the extension does

When a tab on totalbattle.com is open, the extension attaches Chrome's developer-tools protocol to that tab (this is why Chrome shows a bar saying the extension is debugging the tab) and records the requests the game sends to its servers and the responses it receives, plus the game's WebSocket messages. These are the same messages your browser is already exchanging with the game. The extension sends nothing to the game's servers: no march, no purchase, no request of its own.

Troubleshooting counters (version 1.0.4 and later). Each upload carries a few numbers about the extension itself (its version, the browser version, how many game requests and socket messages it recorded, how many failed). From 1.0.5, only while it is recording no game requests at all, it also lists up to eight server names the game tab is posting to (name and first path segment, never the content) so we can see why a browser is not being read. No other tab is ever looked at.

Which email a game progress belongs to. When a progress signs in, the game's own login reply names the email the game account is registered to. The collector keeps that pairing (progress → email) on the server only, so that when you add another of your progresses to your Battle Commander login we can confirm it is yours: either we saw it sign in through your own extension, or we send a confirmation link to that game email. The address is never shown to anyone in full (only as vi***@gmail.com), never used for anything else, and deleted with the rest of your data on request.

Which game account you are playing (version 1.0.7 and later). From the requests it already records, the extension notes which of your game accounts each game tab is signed in to (the game's own player number, nothing else). When the Battle Commander dashboard is open in this same browser, it asks the extension which account you are playing, so "Playing as" follows you when you switch accounts in the game — the first time it meets an account it asks you whether it is yours. The extension answers only the dashboard site, and only for its own key; it is not stored anywhere but this browser session, and turning capture off in the extension's settings turns it off too.

Map "Go to" (version 1.0.4 and later). When you press "Go to" on a target in the dashboard, the extension asks the game page already open in your browser to open its own "go to coordinates" window, fills in the three numbers, and presses its Go button — the same thing you would do by hand. It happens only on your click, touches nothing else in the game, and reads or sends no extra data.

What data is collected

The extension does not read other websites, your browsing history, cookies, passwords, or anything outside the game tab. It does not read the game's login form.

Where the data goes

Captured messages are uploaded to Battle Commander's own storage (Supabase, hosted for Battle Commander) under your tester key, and processed by the Battle Commander collector to populate your clan's dashboard at www.tb-battlecommander.com. Data is visible only to members of your clan's dashboard, under that dashboard's access rules.
